The Lady with the Twinkling Blue Eyes

Squint, squint, squint ever so slightly,
To see the light from the shades.
Now take your paint brush and ever so lightly ,
Draw the image before it fades.
She said holding my hand to paint my flower,
Onto my own special amateur painter paper.

I never thought one day she would no longer be and fade.
Out of sight,
Into the light,
As if merging into that perfectly painted shade.

My grannie:
A true Lady.
Patient, loving, caring,
Until the end, elegantly daring…

Goodbye for now, until we meet once more,
To paint the world, in every rainbow color.
